- Cut a round hole in the centre of the bread slice with a cutter or glass.
- Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat and lay the bread in it.
- Crack the egg into the hole and season with salt.
- Fry until the underside is golden and the white begins to set.
- Flip carefully and cook the other side to your liking.
- Serve hot, with the bread cut-out alongside.
