Instructions
- Combine the warm water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes, until the mixture begins to bubble on top.
- Add the warm milk, yogurt, oil, minced garlic, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until the dough comes together.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead with floured hands until smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the bowl, return the dough to it, cover with plastic wrap and leave at room temperature for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, then roll into a large oval about 15 cm long and 3 mm thick.
- Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it. Cook one naan until bubbles form, about 1-2 minutes, brushing the top with a little oil while it cooks.
- Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until large golden spots appear underneath. Wrap cooked naan in a clean kitchen towel while cooking the rest.
- Mix melted butter with minced garlic. Brush each warm naan with garlic butter and top with chopped cilantro or parsley.
